Global Social Sector Fellowship Program for Young Professionals, Asan Frontier Fellowship
“Young professionals gain opportunities to work in NPOs in the U.S. and to network with peers from various countries and backgrounds.”
As technology and society develop, the social problems of the twenty-first century are becoming global in nature. Different countries suffer from similar social problems as they experience similar economic and technological developments, while solutions from one country can be adapted to other countries. However, there are only limited chances for young Korean professionals with both passion and skills to contribute, to learn, and to work abroad.
The Asan Frontier Fellowship provides opportunities for young professionals to gain work experience, to learn, to contribute, and to network with social entrepreneurs from different countries and backgrounds. Based on their skill sets and interests, fellows will be matched with host organizations in the U.S. Host organizations vary from non-profit organizations to for-profit social ventures. Fellows will have opportunities to work at their organizations for one year, and will be treated as experienced professionals who can learn while contributing. Also, fellows gain opportunities to network with other international peers and to participate in learning sessions, seminars, and conferences. After their return to Korea, fellows will seek ways to develop and cooperate in the non-profit sector. The knowledge, insight, and networks that the fellows gain will guide them to further contribute to the entire sector.
